This notch is where one of the two eye stalks protrudes from the shell. The shell has a long and narrow aperture, and a short siphonal canal, with another indentation near the anterior end called a stromboid notch. True conches have long eye stalks, with colorful ring-marked eyes at the tips. ![]() Again, as is normally the case in many gastropods, this spiral shell growth is usually right-handed, but on very rare occasions it can be left-handed. Like almost all shelled gastropods, conches have spirally constructed shells. Live animal of the Florida fighting conch Strombus alatus: Note the extensible snout in the foreground, and the two stalked eyes behind it. They eat algae and have a claw-shaped operculum. Many species of true conchs live on sandy bottoms among beds of sea grass in tropical waters. Of the living species, most are in the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Fossils of species within this genus have been found all over the world in sediments from Cretaceous to Quaternary (age range: 140.2 million years ago to recent). In the geological past, a much larger number of species of Strombus existed. Worldwide, several of the larger species are economically important as food sources these include the endangered queen conch, which very rarely also produces a pink, gem-quality pearl. These new genera are, however, not yet found in most textbooks and collector's guides. However, since 2006, many species have been assigned to discrete genera. Six species live in the greater Caribbean region, including the queen conch, Strombus gigas (now usually known as Eustrombus gigas or Lobatus gigas), and the West Indian fighting conch, Strombus pugilis. Around 50 living species were recognized, which vary in size from fairly small to very large. The genus Strombus was named by Swedish Naturalist Carl Linnaeus in 1758. Strombus is a genus of medium to large sea snails, marine gastropod molluscs in the family Strombidae, which comprises the true conchs and their immediate relatives. ![]() The data relating to real estate for sale on this website comes in part from the (IDX) Internet Data Exchange Program of the Albemarle Area Association of Realtors, Multiple Listing Service. The exporter currently writes all skinned meshes in world space (meaning the mesh data is stored in world space, and the inverse binds are given relative to world space), see #994 for some discussion about that. That is unavoidable.īecause each mesh is affected by a different node (bone), they must have different skin.joints arrays, so they all have different skins too. Since each bone has a different world transform and there is no way in glTF to reuse nodes at all, all bones become different nodes. So if we go through all the stuff that’s duplicated in the glTF… It also has no notion of a subtree of nodes that can be reused. The thing is, glTF has no notion of an “armature”. Can you also say more about what you expected the glTF file to look like? I am wondering if this is at all related to this: In case some additional context happens there this question is also on the Blender SE: Only one armature is exported and re-used, just like the re-used mesh and material. Examine the GLTF file to see re-used material, but copied armature & bones.Export everything to GLTF with animation. ![]() Alt + D duplicate the object multiple times.Attach an armature and animation to the default object.Since the bone data is duplicated needlessly. This causes the file size to expand significantly as the number of these characters grows. But the armature, which is set to be the same on each, is exported once for each character. Animated characters that have been link duplicated in the same file export a single mesh, material and animation. ![]() This is how you can utilise Canva without missing out on anything: These templates can also be very specific, for example, you can search for “ mood boards for bedroom or living room mood boards. ![]() Now, you can see here as I'm chaining this thing up, full height on this loader is high. This is going to be your lift capacity at full height at the pivot pin. Our last test here is going to be at full height. Your lift capacity starts to dive off really quickly. As that bucket moves away from the tractor. You can see here how that loader geometry plays out. I'm coming in at 1200 pounds, a full 30% lower than what we were doing just two feet below. This one will be 1500 millimeters off the ground, which is just shy of 60 inches from the pivot pin. If you look at your loader literature, this is actually a number that is oftentimes published. That one's going to taken right about five feet. You can see here by the dogleg here that's in the loader arm that dog leg is going to be pointed basically out by 90 degrees here in the next test. That's going to show you that when you are lifting loads around- If you only need to be able to pick something up off the ground and carry it a little ways and set it back down again, you can really push a lot more with these tractors than what you would expect, but as you're going to see here as we move this thing up forward, higher and higher, those numbers are going to start to decrease. How about yours? Right? A very good example right there, so knee or basically waist height at this point now that I've pulled the slack out of the chain, right? If we were going to drop this down even further, it's pretty safe to say that you could probably get a 2000 pound measurement out of this tractor. To full height, into a dump truck or whatever, but this number is going to show a heck of a lot more than that. That's the conservative number that we as sales guys like to see used because it's going to tell you that you should be able to put 660 pounds just about anywhere. The very conservative number for this loader is right about 660 pounds. I've got the loader lowered down to the ground and I got my load cell hooked back behind my bucket where the pivot pins are at right about knee height which should give us a very, very strong lift. We're going to do the knees test here at first. Now, just like lifting something yourself, the lower that you are the ground and the closer that you are to your body, the much easier that it is, right? If you're going to try to lift something up above your head, it's going to be a lot more difficult than lifting it up to your knees. ![]() I'm going to show you a little bit here today just by moving around the point that my load cell is attached and running up to different heights of how we can come up with some radically different numbers. If you're trying to put on a good face and make a good marketing material, that's a very easy way to do it is just by not showing the full picture. The less honest ones that want to make themselves seem like a little bit more than they are are going to be very coy about exactly how they're taking those numbers by coming back closer to the loader and lower down to the ground, you're going to lift a lot more weight. Oftentimes, you're going to find some companies giving you a lot of detail, more honest companies, giving you a lot of detail on exactly where they're taking their measurements, the height, how high up, and how far forward on the loader they're recording those specs. ![]() One of the things that I really frequently get frustrated by is the way that a lot of tractor companies present the specifications of their product. I'm going to go through and do a couple of demonstrations here for you today showing how lift, height, and the positioning on your loader bucket impacts your lift capacity. ![]() I've got here buried about 10 feet underground a tire with a chain attached to it and a loader cell between my loader and that chain going down underground. Today we're going to do a little bit of load cell testing down in our test pit. The data show low oxygen levels, or anoxia, likely persisted in the world’s oceans for millions of years longer than previously thought – well into the Phanerozoic, when land plants and early animals began to diversify. ![]() They analyzed 837 new samples from the Peel River site, as well as 106 new samples from other parts of Canada and 178 samples from around the world for comparison. Once the researchers had finished identifying and dating graptolite fossils, they ground the rocks in a mill, then measured iron, carbon, phosphorous and other elements in the resulting powder to assess the ocean conditions at the time and place where the layers formed. Because graptolites evolved a vast array of recognizable body shapes relatively quickly, the pencil-like markings left by the fossils of these colony-dwelling sea creatures give geologists a way to date the rocks in which they’re found. “We spent a lot of time splitting open rocks and looking at graptolite fossils,” Sperling said. Arriving by helicopter, the research team hacked through brush with machetes beside Class VI rapids to collect hundreds of fist-sized samples of rock from more than a mile of interbedded layers of shale, chert and lime mudstone.īack at Sperling’s lab at Stanford, a small army of summer undergraduates and graduate students worked over five summers to help analyze the fossils and chemicals entombed in the rocks. With permission from the Na Cho Nyak Dun and Tetlit Gwitch’in communities in Yukon, Sperling’s team, which included researchers from Dartmouth College and the Yukon Geological Survey, spent three summers at the Peel River site. “In order to make comparisons throughout these huge swaths of our history and understand long-term trends, you need a continuous record,” said Sperling, an assistant professor of geological sciences at Stanford’s School of Earth, Energy & Environmental Sciences (Stanford Earth). ![]() But until now, it has been difficult to pin down the timing of global oxygenation or the long-term, background state of the world’s oceans and atmosphere during the era that witnessed both the so-called Cambrian explosion of life and the first of Earth’s “Big Five” mass extinctions, about 445 million years ago at the end of the Ordovician. Scientists have long debated what might have caused the dramatic shift from a low oxygen world to a more oxygenated one that could support a diverse web of animal life. And all of this after nearly four billion years of Earth’s landscapes being virtually barren. ![]() Primitive ferns and conifers marched across continents previously ruled by bacteria and algae. It stayed scarce until the Devonian, roughly 405 million years ago, when, in a geological blink – no more than a few million years – oxygen likely rocketed to levels close to those in modern oceans and the diversity of life on Earth exploded. Oxygen was scarce in the deep water of this and other oceans at the dawn of the Paleozoic, roughly 541 million years ago. |
